“Once Upon a Time…” with Donna Migliaccio

Donna Migliaccio and Stephen Gregory Smith in Into the Woods

Monday, February 5, 2007
7:00-8:00 PM
NEW Shirlington Library located on the 1st floor of the Signature Theatre complex
2800 S. Stafford Street
Arlington, VA 22206

Once upon a time, Eric Schaeffer and Donna Migliaccio had a dream.  That dream became Signature Theatre.  Signature produced its first musical, Sweeney Todd, which won praise from both critics and audiences alike before going on to win numerous Helen Hayes Awards, including one for Donna as Outstanding Actress in a Musical.  Eric and Donna’s dream quickly got bigger and they found themselves renovating and moving Signature into an old auto bumper-plating factory.  In this home, Signature presented many lauded productions including the 1994 hit Into the Woods featuring Donna as The Witch.

With a growing audience and recognition, Eric and Donna’s dream continued to grow into today’s magical, new Signature Theatre opening with a new production of Into the Woods featuring Donna as Jack’s Mother.

And we all lived happily ever after….

Appearing in over 20 musicals and plays at Signature, Donna has many stories and a unique perspective on the history of Signature Theatre.  And as one of the co-founders, she’s the perfect guest artist to inaugurate the From Page to Stage series at the new Shirlington Library — an expansion of the series now being offered the first Monday of every month featuring theater artists involved in current Signature productions.  The Shirlington Library provides a relaxed and informal setting where everyone can join in the conversation.

The event is free and open to the public.  No reservations or tickets are required.

From Page to Stage, the informative and entertaining discussion series held in conjunction with Signature Theatre and The Arlington Central Library, is expanding to include additional discussions at the new Shirlington Library. Click here for a complete 2006-07 calendar of From Page to Stage events.
